JOIN US FOR OUR SERVICE DAYS! Each year we partner with the Capital Area Intermediate Unit (CAIU) and UPMC Harrisburg to knit and crochet baby hats and NICU octopuses. We will be having two open stitch nights for this service project on Tuesday, September 10th from 5-8pm, and Wednesday, September 11th from 4-8pm. You may also work on these items at home and drop them off any time through November 30th. Feel free to stop in for more info, including patterns and approved yarns available here at the shop and at your local craft stores.
FALL/WINTER 2024 PLANNED CLOSURES:
- Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, October 15th, 17th, & 18th (Fall break). We will still be open Wednesday the 16th and Saturday the 19th, and will also be open for any running classes.
- Tuesday, November 5th (Election Day, please go vote!)
- Wednesday and Thursday, November 27th and 28th (Thanksgiving)
- Wednesday, December 25th through Tuesday, December 31st (Christmas)
String Theory Yarn Shop 
You have a great store, huge variety of yarns, spacious, well organized and inviting. Another yarn shop is closer, but I love the welcoming, inclusive atmosphere of String Theory. About a month ago I asked about fall classes and you did reply saying essentially “stay tuned.” So that’s what I’ve been doing, almost everyday, hoping for an update. Hope to make it out to knit night soon. But in the mean time, as you consider classes you might offer, whether fall, winter, or even next spring, please consider a brioche class, preferably 2 color in the round. I have a project I’d like to make, but don’t yet have the skills to complete it. Thanks. Looking forward to your class offerings and meeting you.

Hi Deborah! We just updated our classes page to reflect our Fall 2019 schedule. We have a few more classes that we’re waiting on confirmation for (including Brioche!), and then they will be added to our schedule. We look forward to seeing you in class!
