Local Yarn Store Day is almost here! This year we’re celebrating on Saturday, April 25th and hope you’ll join us for the fun and perhaps a mimosa, while supplies last. Almost everything will be 20% off, so we hope you’ll stop by and grab some goodies and get a fun summery project going.
Need some fun project ideas? Here’s some patterns we think are perfect to get the summer vibes rolling:
Miu Top
Miu Top is a fun summery, slouchy knit top that uses sport weight yarn, though we think you could easily swap in fingering for something with more drape, or DK for better summer fiber options. Cascade Heritage 6 or Universal Bamboo Pop would both be great choices.
Little Checks Socks
Little Checks Socks are perfect for using up those sock yarn scraps we all have, or intentionally plan your colors for a delightful plaid effect. We’ve got tons of sock yarn here, whether you’re looking for something fun and colorful like Frog It! Yarns or something super affordable like Cascade Heritage.
SeaGrass Cowl
I know we’re heading out of the season where cowls feel like a necessity, but the SeaGrass Cowl was too tempting to skip. This cowl works up quickly with just a single skein of worsted (check your gauge!), and we think it would look great in Malabrigo Rios.
Rosal
Rosal is made for warm days and cool nights! This crocheted tee should work up quickly despite using fingering weight yarn, and the open lace work means you don’t need to worry about your fiber choice as much. Grab some extra skeins to add length and make yourself a stunning beach cover up. Once again we recommend Cascade Heritage for their awesome solid colors, and we have plenty of other variegated choices too (looking at you, Malabrigo Ultimate Sock!).
Arlie Fairie Kerchief
Okay, I admit we’re rolling the dice a bit here with only one finished project on Ravelry, but I can’t stop thinking about how versatile the Arlie Fairie Kerchief could be. Wear it as a simple tied scarf, as a decorative shawl, or even tied up as a head scarf. Grab a skein of fingering weight yarn to crochet with and dig through those leftovers for a pop of color on your edge.
Sun Coaster
Sometimes you just need a little pop of bright fun to get your home ready for summer. These Sun Coasters crochet up fast, and you can use whatever worsted weight yarn tickles your fancy. Grab some Cascade Cherub Aran or Universal Bamboo Pop (we know it’s DK but it should work well) for maximum washability, or grab a skein of Berroco Vintage for the washability of acrylic and the absorption powers of wool.
