It seems these days that brioche knitting is everywhere. Well, it is for good reason! The brioche stitch lends a super squishy texture to knitted fabric, and when worked using two colors makes a super squishy, colorful, and completely reversible item. You might find yourself asking, “How do you do it?” It comes as no surprise that we’ve got a class just for you!
Our first offering of this class is on Tuesday, March 28th from 6-8pm, and our second offering is on Saturday, April 1st (no fooling!) from 3:30-5:30pm. This gives you the flexibility to choose a time of day that works best for you. Visit our classes page for more information on what you’ll need for this simple and fun brioche project.
This cowl was made using Purl Soho’s Brioche Hat and Cowl pattern, available for free on Ravelry. For our shop sample, we used 4 skeins of Susquehanna Knitting Company’s Low-Cal Worsted, 2 skeins of each color. This was more than enough to work the cowl with leftovers for the accompanying hat pattern. You will need about 280yds of each color to complete the cowl, 440yds each if you want to make the hat as well.
